Still inspired by the Pop Your Colour editorial that I scanned in a few posts ago, I decided to build up an outfit around these blue cords. The last time I wore cords was when I was about 15 and had adopted the grungy baggy trousers and hoody look, complete with side fringe. It gets worse. My cords back then were wider than I was tall and I had to hold them up when traveling on escalators. Oh dear indeed! Luckily I learned the error of my ways and these skinny cords from Zara are far more flattering!

Other colours I like at the moment are these Katy Perry for OPI polishes. Aside from my nails that seem quite desperate for some good moisturiser, I'm kind of obsessed with the glitters in this mini set. Especially painted half and half like this, girly unicorn colours? Yes please!
Glitter polish is a pain to remove but Gem posted this awesome nail polish tip a while back which makes removing this glitter so much easier!

you look so cute! I cannot imagine you with sideways fringe and baggy trousers and hoodie haha! post a picture of that sometime XD!
ReplyDeleteI think in every teenage girl's life there are moments like those! Those nail lacquers are so nice, I had never seen nails done half and half like you did. It's a shame there is no OPI here.
I must try dumplings too then! They must be so tasty.
Liking the cords! I had the same problem too: so short I was back then (ok, I still am) that I had to have trousers cut (Zara back in the days used to have their jeans really long =S) and most probably explains why I am rarely seen in trousers! It's great seeing colours in clothes especially now we have been seeing sunshine in the skies lately ^_^
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried the KP OPI nail polishes yet but don't you find glitter is so hard to get off sometimes? The colours are pretty though so it is worth it!=p
Love the outfit, the blue chords are gorgeous! I totally went through the same phase when I was that age, baggy jeans, big skate shoes, band hoodies and black the black eye makeup. I look back and laugh at the mega state I was but saying that it was a fun couple of years being grungy =)
ReplyDeleteYou look so adorable in that outfit; I have similar shoes. =o)
ReplyDeleteoo lala! so much fun! you have officially just inspired me to raid my wardrobe for a crazy color combo. i'm going to have a blast (:
ReplyDeletecool nail polish too!
I like the colors in your outfit. The nail polish is so sparkly and girly.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors in your outfit :) Plus the nail polish is sweet!
ReplyDeleteFabulous manicure.
ReplyDeleteYour nails look amazing! x
ReplyDeleteI had baggy cords too! Was just thinking the other day how much I loved my baggy cords and jeans, so could not pull them off now. That nail varnish is so pretty - I haven't tried any glitter versions yet but I may just have to.

ReplyDeleteThe nail colour looks really pretty as well.
Haha I remember wearing cords when I was 15 too! I was a bit of an indy cindy and had beige ones that I wore with a kelly green blazer. Lol.

:O these cords are gorgeous- such a beautiful colour, and the perfect shape [i too had a flared-cord disaster in my teens :P]. Love the two tone nails as well..prettyy! x
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous of your nails. Memories of my early teenage years going glitter crazy, need to revisit now!
ReplyDeleteOMG--I loved my grunge period. I rocked the cords, ratty tees, purple fishnets and hoodies--would probably happily incorporate any of those items into my wardrobe right now, to be honest, minus the wallet chain (shudders).

I love your colour combination. really fresh and spring like. I am addicted to the Opi glitter polish too, the only problem is that I have trouble removing it when it starts to peel off.
ReplyDeleteI had tie dye cords wider than I was tall (no mean feat, I'm 5'9!) when I was 15...so cool, so cool.
ReplyDeleteThat nail varnish is gorgeous! I need some glitter asap.

Wow, I just added Katy Perry OPI set in my birthday presents lists lol..
ReplyDeleteI like the colour pops, way too many people are safely swathed in black (including me...)
ReplyDeleteLove the glitter polishes, never thought I'd like anything affiliated with Katy Perry, but these are quite nice! The removal can be quite tricky or time consuming though.
I love the way you used the two polishes together. Looks great!
ReplyDeleteooo love your scarf! and the two pale nail colours together on the last pic look so sweet :) x
ReplyDeleteLove your coloured cords, I have a bright red pair but I'm always at a loss of how to style them! The OPI polishes are gorge too, but I refuse to buy anything Katy Perry endorses as she irritates me so much :/ And I love Cindy Sherman too, I based one of my final gcse art pieces on her work; she was so interesting to study!

ReplyDeleteAhhh I am wearing the exact same trousers today, the colour really appealed to me (even though I've since bought similar black and camel pairs). I really want to embrace the brights more this season, very much inspired by that pic of Kit all in pink and I hope to acquire that red Zara dress if they still have any left. Loving the two tone nails, only just managed to get my glitter polish off from ages ago (couldn't be bothered to get foil)...
ReplyDeleteoh god i am realllllly wanting the Katy Perry polishes!!!x
