Did someone say cake?

My friend Connie who is not only well on her way to becoming a Dr in Art History is a bit of a baking extraordinaire. Her blog which is aptly called Did Someone Say Cake? is FULL to the brim with her baking experiments. Yesterday she hosted a brilliant tea party in aid of Japan and well, I couldn't NOT take any photos to share the cakey goodness with you guys right?!

She has the most amazing collection of Baking books so you can imagine how impressive her cakes were. The Hummingbird bakery book is by far, the most awesome one she had, the photos inside are all so droolworthy!

I love a bit of kitsch and I loved her cushions but most of all, the fun flag she made for the Royal wedding. Brilliant!

Now for what you've all been waiting for, the cake! She had baked a whopping 20 varieties and even though I arrived late, there was still plenty left!

My friends and I left the tea party bursting with cake and our tupperware boxes filled with a selection to take home. Seriously, how pretty are they? What a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

    Wow. I think I'm on a vicarious sugar high just from looking at it! Can't wait to go home and bake for about 2 weeks straight now - am definitely gonna give whoopie pies another go after that photo! Glad you had a lovely Sunday :) x

    AMGH! CAKE! :) Haha, yesterday we had a bbq and lots and lots and lots of cake and i was all like 'i couldn't not eat any more cake ever in my life!' and then today we had pancakes for breakfast to celebrate finishing the degree! haha! Oh well :P Oh and HII Winnie btw! I'm back and I can't wait to catch up with all that's new!

    20 varieties of cake? I want cake, oh man I really want cake now. The cake with cookies and chocolate and chocolate cake and icing. YES! At this stage I would potentially sell an organ for one of those.

    A tea party! I'd probably serve pink lemonade from such pretty tea cups, but I guess tea will do : ) What a great idea - plus it's given me some inspiration for what to bake next!

    Oh wow, she made all of that herself? Everything looks incredible. I do love to bake, but I'm lazy with it, especially considering I don't have all the baking equipment with me here in London (and whisking by hand is a pain). I do agree though that the Hummingbird Bakery book is gorgeous.
