Lace, Ribbon and THAT skyline

Isn't it terribly difficult getting back into a routine after you've taken a holiday? A friend of mine said I was suffering from homesickness rather than the holiday blues which I thought was really sweet! While I struggle with the fact that I won't be back in Hong Kong for at least another year, here is an outfit post while I get my blogging-act together.

It features one of my favourite things that I bought while away in HK. The lace collar is such a girly and cute addition to any outfit and I've been hankering after one of these for a long time and was over the moon when I managed to find this in a boutique in Hong Kong.
Grey and pink
Top, Cardi, Skirt, Shoes (Topshop), Collar (Laurustinus, HK), Bag (Laforet, HK)

Situated in one of many, MANY local mini malls that exist in HK, Laurustinus can be found in the Apple Mall in Tin Hau (opposite the MTR) which is only a stop away from Causeway Bay so not too out of the way if you're around that area anyway. Worth mentioning is that malls like these usually open quite late averaging around 2pm/3pm, something I'll mention again when I discuss where else I shopped! Luckily my family live quite near by so I took the opportunity to wander down there after dinner one evening and er...a couple of other trips after that! The shop itself is tiny (as is the norm for these kind of shops) and full of handpicked garments with stock mainly from Korea and Japan. Definitely worth a visit and Peggy the owner is wonderful to chat to too. The bag is also a new find and from Laforet Mall in Causeway Bay.

Given the recent trouble in the UK, I've found myself doing little else but watching the news and checking twitter for riot updates. Something I never, ever would have imagined myself doing and it makes me so angry and sad. I do hope that those from the affected areas stay safe!

Before I disappear to try and reorganise my HK photos (serious lack of touristy shots I'm afraid but plenty of food shots), let's end this post with something that makes me smile! Introducing you guys to my favourite skyline in the world. Swoon!

Ahhh we are lace collar twins now, bought mine from Asos though. I guess this is where the jealously begins, looking forward to seeing all your HK pics. Hope the situation here isn't depressing you too much and that Brum gets better soon.

The collar is gorgeous!

I imagine it is tough to get back in after a month. I always find routine hard to get back into if it's been shaken up (not sure if I'm coming or going at the moment).

Cannot wait to see the rest of your HK posts- shopping, food, everything!

That collar is beautiful!

Having seen all your wonderful photos of Hong Kong on instagram I can completely understand why you are missing it! Plus with the riots to come back to it's not all that pretty in England at the moment, but hopefully it will get better.

Ahhhhhhhhh .... 香港!!! ... Trying to convince my dad to take me there on a short break at christmas harhar (fingers crossed) .
When I talk to people about HK , I always seem to make it out like all I do there is eat..& shop.

I always get that weird homesickness when I come back from Spain too! It's horrible :( Saying goodbye to relatives is the worse, especially my 90 year old great aunt. That lace collar is very pretty.

LOVE the lace collar and the sky line, HK is one of my favourite places on Earth, it's just fantastic! I get post holiday blue and never homesick. How can you get homesick when you're off exploring the world and experiencing loads of amazing things

That is a beautiful skyline. I had a friend at college who was from Hong Kong and she always had the nicest things to say about it, and she was lovely too. I'm glad you liked the links post, it's always good fun discovering new things on the net. Hopefully the riots are the last bad news for a while now! xxx

It is definitely hard to get back into a routine. I have been back at university for two weeks now but I still can't get back into it yet. I especially love your bag and top here, so gorgeous. I want to try and sew a lace collar onto some of my tops so I can get that kind of effect just need to find what I need.

That's got to be so hard to have to come back home... from some place you feel very much at home. So glad you had such a wonderful time though!

I LOVE that collar! I remember watching old period dramas where women in the early 1900s would revamp an outfit by adding a collar and wondered why we didn't do that any more. Genius! And I love how you paired it with a tee.

I'm shocked at the rioting too! I hope all your family and friends are safe!

I really love this girly casual look of yours! I would totally steal your lace collar if I met you haha :)

I am not here for a long time but I was really upset about the riots too, I could only think how ridiculous it was and couldn't stop checking bbc and twitter too for updates!

One of my favourite outfit posts of yours Winnie! You look super cute :) I'm going to be in clothes/food heaven when I go HK. Ah, can't wait.

Those rioters attacked in London where I live and I was so angry. They are destroying our lovely cities around the UK. Argh...

Beautiful skyline :)
