Gingerbread sweater - Joy, Necklace - Topshop
The past few days have been non-stop eating for most of us so here are a whole bunch of food photos taken mostly via my iPhone. For my family, the feasting kicked off on Christmas Eve where we all trooped over to my aunts, as it was her turn to host the annual hot pot dinner! We had all sorts of food to cook in our hot pots from fresh homemade fish balls, razor clams, beef, prawns, scallops and lots of veg.

The next day it was all hands on deck at our house as we prepared traditional Christmas lunch. It's funny how much you can eat even when you're full from the night before! Everything smelled so good.

On the evening we have a huge family gathering at my grandmas - the kind where not everyone can fit in the living room and the floor is covered with toys and small children. The main dishes of the day were grandma's lobster, cooked the traditional Chinese way with plenty of ginger and spring onions. There was also Roast Duck, Steamed Sea Bass, Grandma's Hakka belly pork with taro and crispy suckling pig. We also celebrated my cousin's birthday with a big Hello Kitty cake from the Chinese bakery which had a chestnut filling.

Lastly on Boxing day my dad always organises dinner with a couple of family friends and we had some of my favourite foods at our usual Cantonese restaurant. We had Chinese simmered chicken with ginger and spring onion, Salt, Pepper and Chilli soft shell crab, Steamed Eel in black bean sauce, Claypot fish and Crab with Spring onions and ginger on a bed of noodles.

Phew! I think it's time to hibernate after all that food. It's been a good few days and I know that next year will creep up on us just as fast because I still remember writing last year's Christmas post!
2012 has turned out to be a pretty awesome year and I can only hope that next year will be even better. When I return in the New Year with my next post, it will be my 5th year of blogging. Now, that is definitely some food for thought....see you next year!
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas, lovely! It looks like you had lots of fun. I love this blog post - you know how much I looooove your food photos! x
