As soon as I spotted a picture of fried chicken and waffles appear on instagram, I knew I had to check out Stax Diner when I was next in London. My sister and I ordered the chicken and waffles and I was super eager to try their fried onion blossom but unfortunately burgers, fries and cajun onion blossom were all items that you can only order after 3pm. I suppose that saved me from being a total fatty at lunchtime...
Whoever discovered that waffles, chicken and maple syrup went together, I salute you! It might have been a little calorific but sometimes you just have to live a little. I loved sitting in one of the window seats, overlooking Kingly Court, perfect on such a lovely sunny, summers day. You'll find Stax Diner in Kingly Court a stones throw away from Liberty and a bustling Oxford Circus. It's home to a couple of other great eateries including Shoryu Ramen which is always a no-brainer for me if I can't decide where to go and eat. I'll be coming back to Stax Diner to sample their pancakes for brunch...
Chicken, waffles and maple syrup is not a combination I would have put together but I'd definitely be up for giving it a go. Plus this place looks like a lovely spot to eat. I need a trip to London, stat! Hx

I love how all these american themed diners seem to springing up all over the UK at the moment, this looks so good! I'm yet to try chicken and waffles but I have been making honey and bacon pancakes a lot, another one of those ones that sound gross but work! xx

ReplyDeleteI think it's funny that the UK is impersonating an American-themed diner! As someone from the US, I gotta say, sometimes our diners are not even that fancy. Would love to visit Stax one day to see how it fares compared to the diners over here!

Ah this place is adorable. It reminds me of a similar place called Pies N Thighs in Brooklyn. Ugh if only we could find awesome fatty food like that in HK for cheap. Love the retro vibe of the interiors.

Chicken and waffles is a Lousiana special I think and it has taken the culinary scene by storm recently, hasn't it? We even have it here in Tokyo ;) It's so indulgent but so good.
