Castles, Fish & Chips and Cake is essentially the name of the game with this post but let's stick with the alliterative title! This post was a day out that turned out to be brilliantly British. I spent a Saturday afternoon hanging around Warwick which is well known for being home of Warwick Castle.
Our first port of call was figuring out lunch! We toyed with the idea of sandwiches and Italian food but we all know that sometimes only fish and chips will do! So we stopped by The Pot and Fin which serve up the perfect portions.

We had a wander around some vintage and antique shops but it wasn't long before we walked back towards the castle and with it dating back to 1068 (built by William the Conquerer) it's a pretty touristy location. I've been on many a school trip to the castle but we didn't venture inside this time. Mostly because it's not the cheapest place to visit and all we really wanted was a good view of the castle. My friend Chrissy used to work there and knew where to take me for a decent view!
Finally, we stopped by one of our favourite places for Afternoon tea at the Thomas Oaken Tea Rooms (see this super old post too!) which is near the castle entrance, inside a little 500 year old building. It's really quaint, creaky, everything is a little mismatched, a bit wonky and pretty old all round - it's super cute. Most importantly, they serve lots of cake (their scones are so big we shared one!) and they have a large selection of the most delicious loose leaf tea. Such a perfect way to end a really lovely afternoon.
